The obvious thing you can do to support local artists is to donate money to help keep their art going. There are tons of places you can DONATE, so if you feel so inclined, go ahead and send some love and money their way. But if you’re not financially able to donate, that’s ok, because there are tons of other ways to show Bay Area artists how much their art means to you. Keep reading for some more ideas on what you can do to help the arts.
Check Out Their Work
A great way to show artists your support is to do things like follow them on social media and check out their art on their website (if they have one). We may not be able to enjoy art in person, but we can definitely enjoy it virtually.
Show Them and Their Work Some Love
Sometimes the best way to show support is by giving a compliment. Drop a comment on your favorite artists social media posts. Tell them how much you enjoy their work. This, of course, isn’t the only way to send a compliment, so get creative and find a way to show artists how much you appreciate them, and all that they bring to the community.
Purchase Their Art
Whether it be a song or a painting, the best way we can support our local artists is to buy their work. Now we’re not saying to buy everything you see, especially if it’s not something you’re crazy about, but if you find a piece of art that really speaks to you, support the artist who created it and buy it.
The arts are an important part of our everyday lives. We all listen to music, watch TV, read books, and do all sorts of other things that were created by an artist. So make sure to show our artists that you care about them, especially now.
